Since I started doing spirit guide portraits for people out of eyesight range, the spirits will stop me at a particular place in the portrait and say: "Take a picture here," when they want to emphasize a certain energy or point. 

This spirit had a dancing-feel when I contacted her and gave the impression of ocean, sunlight,  and foam. 

"I am a feather of joy," she identified herself.

1.  The first shape and color had the energy of growing plants;  the spirit guide called this sea coral.

2. "Stop here and show my "hair" and the ruffles of water."

The brown "hair" is for earth healing and grounding.

"She [client] needs lots of dancey energy to heal a wounded spirit."

(As I am writing this, she (the spirit) says, "I am lightness of emotion.")

Now, slowly pour in dabs of light (touches of light yellow and white) so she [the client] doesn't use the energy to make her life worse.

I put the eyes in. (Not every spirit wants eyes or eyes that look like what we think of as eyes.) "Are you sure you want them that large and winged?"

"Yes."

I think she is not looking very human.

She answers, "I'm not human."

3. The final portrait. The spirit says [to the client] "Coral is my (unconditional love to you."
